Research Fellow in History of Design (0.2 full-time equivalent) 

The University of Brighton, School of Humanities and Social Science is looking for a Research Fellow in History of Design to join the international team responsible for the research project Graphic Design Histories for Creative Dissent: Archiving and Ethical Challenges (GDHCD) This project is supported by the Trans-Atlantic Platform for Social Sciences and Humanities and involves local teams in Brazil, South Africa and the UK. You will be part of the UK team working closely with Dr Harriet Atkinson, Senior Lecturer, School of Humanities and Social Science and Centre for Design History at University of Brighton and Professor Teal Triggs, Postgraduate Research Lead, School of Communication at Royal College of Art. You will investigate visual communication used by UK communities of resistance, comparing it with Brazil and South Africa, and contribute to understanding how graphic languages express differing concepts of democracy and how UK archives can better preserve the cultural memory of these struggles. 

This is a 0.2 role, fixed term until 30 September 2027.
