We have just concluded the 39th SAVAH conference hosted by the
Fine Art Department and the National Research Foundation Arts of Africa Research programme,
at Amazwi South African Museum of Literature, Rhodes University, Makhanda, from 23-28 September 2026.
The theme of the conference (and festival!) was
Reaching Sideways, Creating Our Ways
We thank Prof. Ruth Simbao and her fantastic team for a superb event, where we feasted on multimodal offerings from across South Africa, Africa, the diaspora and beyond!
